IP address input

What do you want to understand?

Use a preset to see the difference, or paste one line from a server, CDN or firewall log.

Waiting for an address.

Where do I get an IP address?

You may find one at the start of a server access-log line or in request exports from a CDN, reverse proxy or firewall. You can paste that whole line; the tool picks out the address. If you do not have a log, use the examples to understand the ranges or start with the Server Log Inspector.

What can the result tell me?

The result distinguishes IPv4 from IPv6 and recognises private, loopback, link-local, documentation, multicast and other special-use ranges. A separate, dated dataset would be needed to associate a public IP with a network or approximate area.

Use IP geography as a weak routing or analytics signal with fallbacks and user control. Do not treat it as proof of residence, identity, eligibility, fraud, or physical presence.
